Durham Ferry – The waters have receded. There was a big puddle here and there but nothing that that would keep this dedicated gang from shooting. Forty five shooters showed up at Durham Ferry to test their skills. This was our first Saturday shoot since the mighty San Joaquin has allowed us back on the range. The competition was spirited. Only his single miss kept the Tracy Kid out of 2nd place and he’s abdicated his junior ways. JW Trader has moved to the top on the Dark Side and Cherokee Doll seems to have a lock on the Ladies 49er category. Badlands Bud, Lefty Vaquero, Frank Bruce, Wobblin’ Bob, Fuzzy McFarland, Sintree Tulait and Hangin’ Hank shot a clean match. A number of our troop recently returned from the World Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting at End of Trail where we were ably represented. Diamond Dick and Paniolo Lady were in the top ten in their categories. Our Lefty Eastman was the top Frontiersman validating his win at Winter Range. Badlands Bud, in spite of a gun that quit on him, was the top Young Gun. Little Fawn was the top female Young Gun. Two youngsters from my posse took top honors in the Buckeroo (The Linden Kid from North Carolina) and Buckerette (Sage Chick from Ohio) categories and our Pie Crust was cited as being one of the best dressed Waddies. She did look sharp.
